|Boards Explained|
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Considering that most boards lack a very descriptive explanation of their purpose, I have created this thread to explain it all for you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Come Forth -: Generally quite self-explanatory.
Written on the Wind:[/u] Well, hopefully by now you have kind of figured that one out on your own...
Welcome Newcomer:[/u] This is basically set up for new players who would like to ask questions regarding things like activity, members, plots etc.
There is no limit as to what you may ask, but generally things are meant to stay game-related.
It could also prove useful to guests who would like inquire first-hand about the site from other members.
It is not restricted to new members and guests though, anybody who has any sort of question can find answers here at any time.
Take Part: Translated simplistically, this is the Joining board. Generally if you have played RPGs before, you should know what this is all about. If for some reason you do not, it is where all characters are created and accepted (yes that's right, you do have to wait to be accepted by a staff member before you can start posting. Trust me, it just makes things a lot easier for us if we happen to encounter a problem with your bio!)
You will probably have noticed by now that it is Password Protected, stopping you from creating characters before you properly understand the rules of the game. That password is hidden amongst these threads somewhere, so pay close attention to what you are reading.
Archives: This is where all finished threads go. I rarely actually delete threads, so you most-likely find any old, finished thread from ages ago still sitting here, collecting dust.
When you have finished with a thread, please PM a staff member so it can be moved the Archive's board.
[/sub]Procession - Human:[/u][/b] This Category is the next step after creating your human character, where you may begin playing them In Character (IC).
The Station: You may be wondering why it is called "The Station". This is because it is a Train Station from which all new characters arrive from. Basically the town of Tea-tree started off completely deserted, just old constructions from years back when civilization thrived here. As people begin to arrive from all over the country and even over-seas, it starts to come back to life. For this reason, nobody can get to Tea-tree Lake without coming by train, as it is miles away from anywhere.
The final part of the Joining password is "ht".
The Ranch: The ranch is a main part of the town of Tee-tree Lake, providing shelter for everybody as well as their horses. You could say it is a kind of boarding center for the towns' population. If numbers grow to be over-whelming, I will consider extending the town to make room for houses which selected humans may live, as well as some acreage for their horses.
Town: This contains all the destinations of the main-street of Tea-tree Lake. I don't know that there is a lot to be explained other than that.
- Library: The library is not very large, but every single flat surface is stacked full of every book imaginable; from horses to cars to aliens to prehistoric times and beyond! Also containing many world-wide classic, popular novels.
- Tea-tree High: This is the local high-school where all teen characters under the age of 18 must attend. Which portions of the school you wish to role play doesn't really matter, so long as you act as though it is a daily thing (aside from the weekends) until you reach 18 years of age. If you would like, your character may drop out at sixteen years onward.
- Pub: To enter, your character must be 18 years or older. Generally your character would come here to relax, have a few drinks and/or meet new people.
There is to be no gambling or overly drunk behavior, please.
- The Store: Probably one of the largest buildings in Tea-tree Lake, the store contains practically everything.
Some things you would expect to find here:
Horse Feed, Groceries, Clothing, Tack, Medicines and Ointments, Jewelery, Gifts and Riding Gear.
- Arena: In this Arena, monthly events like Auctions and Competitions take place. All events are organized by the Eventing Administrator.
[/sub]Procession - Horse:[/u] This is the next step for all accepted Wild Horses, where they join up with the main bulk-herd.
- The Meadow: This is where most horses spend their free lives, grazing happily and breeding at will. It is also where the humans invade from the passage to the East, where they round up the herds and hopefully make a few catches.
- Clover Springs: I thought I did a pretty good job of explaining what the purpose of that board is, but in case you still cannot understand for some reason, is it where all the wild horses (mare's only of course ) give birth when ready. Anybody without the excuse of birthing is strictly forbidden to wander into this place, especially males! In the case of a still-birth, the mare must drag her foal out of the Springs so as to keep it a place of life, rather than death.
- Moon Lake: Up the Northern end of the Meadow is a deep crevice withholding the great Moon Lake. It's depths are unknown, any guess is as good as another's. This is the only place that horses may breed, and please try to be a bit inconspicuous about it.
I think that all of the OOC boards are rather self-explanatory. If you disagree, you can suggest an explanation be put up for them and I [or another staff-member] will add them here as soon as time allows.
