Pandering, head low to the ground, Ance drags his sleek black legs along the lush grass as he heads to wards the lake for a drink of the clear cool water. Lowering his head he fumbles his lips in the water, then sucks the water up in a slight whistling tune. Raising his head out of the water, letting the water drip to the ground. Sniffing the air he scans the area around him for another's presence but cant smell anything, with disappointment he lowers himself into the cool water for a relaxing swim. Splashing the water wishing another was there to play with him...

Though Summer had produced some particularly hot days, this was the worst yet. The sun lashed down upon the backs those unable or unwilling to find shade, feeling as though the hair was being singed right off their flesh. It was another cloudless, steaming hot day; though only about eleven in the morning, most creatures were already sweating to the core. Ataria was no exception.
The tri-pelted dove made a painfully long trek to the lake, every muscle in her body objected but she pushed on, sweat stinging her eyes, half-blinding her. She actually thought she had found the marvelous lake several times, as she continued to hallucinate the entire journey. At one stage she thought that vultures were circling her, as though instinctively thinking the young mare were to die soon, and she herself began to believe it.
When finally the real Moon Lake came into view, she was skeptical, but could not stop her gait from stretching just that little bit further, eating up ground just that little bit more greedily. She was so intensely focussed on trying to differentiate a real lake to a hallucination, that she failed to notice the stallion who was knee-deep in the water, tossing the water around with his nose playfully; had she noticed it probably would have looked rather inviting. She continued to edge her way to the waters edge, half-believe that her reaching maw would go right through the shimmering liquid and kiss the hard, dry ground.
The very moment her lips met the cool water, she let out a shrill whinny of delight and plunged right into the water, paddling around a bit while taking small gulps of it as she went. As soon as she was content enough to calm down, she did eventually spot the stag. He was quite handsome, in fact very much so. She shyly redirected herself so that she was paddling toward him, then grasping the pebbled flooring as she got nearer to the bank. The waterfall that plundered off the cliff and crashed down into the lake was very loud and over-lapped most other noises around here, so she had to talk quite loudly in order to be heard. "My, what a hot day! I thought I was going to fall victim to the sun before I found this place!" she laughed, looking a little awkward. [/sub]

The sun beamed down reflecting off the clear waters surface, splashing the water stopped the sun going into his deep dark pools, which go distracted as he sensed another's presence. Her sleek painted coat shimmered in the bright rays of light, as her body slipped into the water. She didn't seem to notice the stallion as he stood there watching her every move. Then the she danced and lepted to wards him and spoke load to over power the noise of the waterfall not far from were they stood. "My, what a hot day! I thought I was going to fall victim to the sun before I found this place!" A long pause followed her words as the stallion continued to stare at her as if he were dreaming, then noticing she had spoken, he quickly thought of what to say. "Yea, it is pretty hot today, um..... if you don't mind me asking, what is your name? Mine is elegance but you can call me Ance."

If horses could blush, that would have been the perfect emotion to display across her petite features; as the long pause between her words and his clawed its way into her confidence, quickly draining it. She suddenly felt very awkward and out of place. He continued to stare at her as the were a mirage, something that shouldn't exist. Just as she opened her mouth to apologies and depart, he finally looked a little flustered and answered her. She let out a deep sigh, regaining the slightest portion of her lost confidence.
"Yeah, it is pretty hot today, um..... if you don't mind me asking, what is your name? Mine is Elegance but you can call me Ance." Ataria had thought it was a little more than just pretty hot! She had fried her brains out out there! Though he had probably long forgotten considering how cold and refreshing the water was; it was hard to remember how hot the day actually was with the cool water soaking your skin. The speckled mare felt like splashing around in the water for hours more, until the sun had gone the bed and the sky was littered with beautiful stars.
"Oh, how rude of me! I am Ataria, shorten it to what you like; it is a pleasure to meet you, Ance." She smiled at him, shyness illuminating her features.

"Oh, how rude of me! I am Ataria, shorten it to what you like; it is a pleasure to meet you, Ance." Her words rung in his head like dancing bells. She smilled at him. He noticed her shyness and decided to have a play with her, see what she what she is really like. Ance reared up and tossed his head flicking his forlock to one side, then came down causing a splash to drench her completely. Hoping he hadn't anoyed her, he ran off in the water, splashing around, flinging himself all over the place. He looged back to see if she was following.....

The stallion had no verbal answer, but his physical one scared the life out of poor Ataria; she thought he was trying to kill her until she caught the playful look in his eyes. Cutting her cower short, she lifted her fore-hand upward slightly in protest, slamming her hooves back into the water, merging with his splashes. One moment he was there, challenging her to a game, and then suddenly he was bounding off in the other direction, throwing his head like a cocky stallion. Ataria laughed, though it was inaudible against the crashing waterfall, but she splashed after him, throwing in a little pig-root.
Her long legs tossed out before her in an exaggerated stride, grasping at the water and hauling herself towards it, quickly. Ance wasn't going particularly fast as he was spending more time throwing in little bucks and head-tosses rather than gaining speed, so Ataria was able to catch him quickly and then veer in front of him, cutting him off. She threw up her head, flinging water droplets that clung to her damp mane flying in every direction. She started pawing at the water playfully, giving her little glimpses of the pebbled flooring as well as sending huge walls of water everywhere, including Ance.
She let a shrill, triumphant whinny rip from her throat as she looked to the stallion expectantly, sure he would retalliate with something twice as bad.

Soaked to the bone, Ance danced around flinging his head around in circles, bounding up and down, throwing his legs all over the place. Not noticing the paint dash up behind him. Then suddenly the Fae jumped in front of him, he slid to a stop, watching her as she flung her mane sending little droplets fling onto his face, tossing his head up to get rid of the water droplets on his for head. Then a sudden gush of water soaked Ance even more. Then he turned toward her ready for his payback when he saw her whinny in triumph, he thought quick.
They were in chest deep water know so he could do his little trick. Ance reared up high, then fell down on his back, sending waves of water toward Ataria, galloping off he through in a little buck, then halted, turned on his hunches, to see what her reaction would be.... ooc- sorry so short mum ha decided she wants to go to bed, so i have to get off, grrr

The mare's triumphant expression quickly faded to a questioning frown, scrutinizing the stallion in hope to anticipate his next move before he had time to actually play it out. Suddenly the muscles that furrowed deeply over her eyes shot up when he struck up and the air, and then plunged backward. Clever, she thought, hating to admit to another's wit. She watched the stallion bound away, dwelling in his humor.
Ataria thought for a moment before planting a fairly serious, rather intimidating expression on her gentle features; it was un-natural. She looked menacing as she puffed hard, her long sucking in and out rapidly as her pulse raced. She charged toward the bank then veered back around, so that now she had her back to the bank and was heading straight for the stag. She didn't have time to see how he was reacting to all this, she was concentrating on keeping her expression as violent and corrupted as possible, sure to scare any horse out of their wits!
As depth slowly crept up on her and she was now just past knee-deep, she very suddenly skidded to a halt, sending a huge spurt of water at the oblivious stallion. By now her serious expression had long-since disappeared and was replaced by one that hinted laughter, if only vocals were to accompany it. Her eyes were full of cheek and rebelliousness, she was quite the reckless angel. Her flirtatious whinnies pierced the air as she plunged into the full depth of the lake, ending their little game and actually advantaging in the pleasures of the cool water. Her legs struck out simultaneously as she tread water, whinnying out for Ance to join her.

Looking back, she headed toward the bank turned around, her facial expression was quite scary, she pounded toward him, his face shocked. Is she really going to do it, bash into him? He thought. But then her gate locked and she skidded, sending water splash over his body. Quite impressive. He mumbled to himself then just when he managed to shake off the water, he looked up and noticed she had bounded away. Following her, he had flash backs of when he was a foal.
The two Young galloped around in the grassy green paddock, dirt flying from there hooves, skidding, sliding all over the place. The to foals had been friends for a mater of days, there parents were enemies, so when they were caught playing there parents would fight, but the two were in there own secret paddock. The gate was broken so they could sneak in and hide in the long overgrown grass. But as time passed the two grew apart from each other, sold off to different family's.
A tear trickled down Ance's cheek, quickly flinging his head to wipe it away before Ataria could see. Ance loved to play, it felt like he was in his childhood again. He hoped that this was a start to a friendship, or maybe be more......

Ataria's magnificently coloured pelt shone brightly in the sunlight, her Appaloosa markings dancing to life off her very hide. She huffed over to the mighty waterfall, allowing herself to get tangled in the strong current and lead safely away from the brutal falling water. She snorted as water crept up her nose, sending water and nose goo spraying out in front of her. She saw the bay stallion in the corner of her eyes and directed herself toward him, emitting a shrill whinny of content.
She circled him then closed in, nipping his whithers fondly. Though the day was incredibly hot, she thanked it for making her swim that much more enjoyable. "Ance; I feel like I have known you all my life, yet I know nothing about you! Where are you from? How did you get here?" Once the words had escaped her lips, she suddenly thought how intruding it sounded. Ance probably thought her an impolite twat! Well, what's done is done. Thee was nothing more she could do except look apologetic and wait.

The sun was hot and Ance's coat attracted the sun causing it to burn his body, putting up with the pain he continued to follow.
An unexpected playful nip came from Ataria, with words that followed.
"Ance; I feel like I have known you all my life, yet I know nothing about you! Where are you from? How did you get here?" "Ye me too." He said replying to the beginning of her sentence. "Well…." He said bigging his story.
I was breed for show, dressage in fact, but I was no good. I had more of an ability to gallop stop turn on my hindquarters and gallop the other way, chase cattle and the ability to spin in tight circles. My trainer thought I should be sold to someone who would rather a stock horse for use on farms, ranchers them kind of places. At the age of 3 I was sold to an old man. I was put into a big paddock with the rest of his 20 or so horses. A little boy would come every day to the paddock and give every horse there a treat. As days past I never got to get out of that paddock, I was stuck in there to go feral, and feral I went. When it came time for the old man to move us horses into another paddock, I was not in any condition to follow his orders. He haltered every horse there apart from me, because I would run away when he would try to catch me. I had a plan. When he opened the gate I would bolt out and run away to join other horses like me. But my plan failed. I was recaptured by other two legs and put into a round pen to be taught some manners. The fencing was low in that round pen, around chest height. I ran along side the fence, measuring it up against my body, then turned to the man standing in the middle, took off, galloped straight past him, heading to the fence, with one might push off the ground I cleared the rail easily.
I galloped for days till I found myself here.”
Ance looked into Ataria’s eyes waiting for here reply to his story.
ooc - i see you have changed ur colour. =]

Ataria's smile wiped right from her mug as she threw herself into the story, imagining she was watching the whole thing. She winced as she imagined the majestic stallion sitting in a paddock with countless other horses with little else to do but converge an escape plan. Her facial expressions distorted at all the right moments and brightened at the end, where he told of himself leaping he fence and galloping away from the cruel hands of civilization. She smiled and laughed when his captivating voice fell silent, representing the end of his tale. It was a good story, simply because it ended in victory. Ataria was a sucker for winning, a mere slave to its power.
She nodded in acknowledgment; "You are one to be proud of yourself, Ance. You didn't give up, and your determination has landed you in a life of freedom. Though with freedom comes responsibility..." She finished, tilting her dial to allow the bright sky in her view. Her face saddened somewhat before she could hold back the flood of emotion; but in the blink of an eye the sadness was gone and her sweet, captivating smile had returned.

"You are one to be proud of yourself, Ance. You didn't give up, and your determination has landed you in a life of freedom. Though with freedom comes responsibility..." He herd her sweet voice say in reply. He watched her, looking at her fine facial features, then her eyes went puffy, and her eye lids covered half her eye, then suddently it went, and she looked the same sweet horse she was.
Ance woundered what her past was like, if he had remimnded Ataria of hers. "So...How about you. What is your story like?" Not really thinking, he nuzzled his soft nose against her neck, just relising wht he just did he backed off incase he was going to forward. Waiting for her answer, he looked at her.
It was a bad habbit Ance had to improve, he probely spook her out, if he stared to much, but in this silent moment he couldn't help himself.

Much is gained from perseverance;;
Much of the day had passed and the blazing sun was slowly losing intensity and inching its way toward the horizon, the previous blazing heat fading with it. Though a smoldering humidity suffocated the beautiful land, it was more bearable. The gentle current of the lake lolled around the settled quadrupeds, catching the warm colours of the sunset and casting it back like a mirror, doubling the brilliance. The suicidal waterfall too caught the suns magnificent farewell and let the reds and purples set the toppling afire. As beautiful as the scene was, the best was yet to come. The towering barricade of emerald umbrage huddled around the bank like timid herd animals, but their twisted branches and aged bark spoke otherwise. A soothing zephyr tickled the tree-tops, frolicking amongst their leaves before swirling along to the next, like a chain reaction.
The speckled bruja tipped her crania skyward, letting her mug dwell in the playful breeze for a moment, shuffling through the different perfumes it carried, allowing it to take a brief sample of her own and move along to let some other ponder on the sweet new addition. Her soft brow curved upward in a natural ark, allowing her lids to slide gently over her occulars. It was an expression of freedom, release. All things considered, some thought a horse was most beautiful in this state of mind. Taking a last breath of the singing breeze, she let the warm air spill slowly from between her velvety lips and peeled back her lids to reveal her deep chocolate pools once more, taking in the physical world with a breath of satisfaction. Re-aligning her dome so that she was now facing the auburn bronc once more, the edges of her maw creased upward into a breath-taking smile.
His admiring gawk was flattering, but somewhat awkward; Ataria was not used to being looked in such a way. She couldn't help but to look down, noticing the little circles that formed around her breast as her heart-beat quickened in pace, startling the glassy surface of water. The ripples were small and only weak, disappearing back into the large body of water after traveling only a few inches. Glancing back up sheepishly, she was sure that she had made her quickening pulse obvious and felt the blood rushing to her face. He made her feel very odd.
"So...How about you. What is your story like?" Ataria's heart skipped a beat as he asked the inevitable. Her eyes widened slightly for a brief moment before she looked away, her expression very flustered and confused. What would she tell him? The truth? No, he was not yet ready for that. She look back at him more confidently, "There's not much to tell..." That was a big lie; the truth is there was too much to tell. If she had not allowed the little before-hand slip up, she would have sounded very convincing. Put two and two together, it was obvious she was hiding something. Glancing back up at the sky where the sun had now completely disappeared, its departing blanket of beauty losing contrast rather quickly, too. "Its getting late; god knows what kind of nocturnal creatures will begin to awaken at this hour." She said, diverting the conversation. It was sad that night-stalking predators skulked about the night, for the beautiful lake was at its peak of magnificence when the moons face gazed down upon the glassy surface. No words were capable of explaining the exquisite scene.
Sighing, the femora began hauling her appendages in the direction of the bank, beckoning the auburn brujo to follow. She felt bad for not telling him about her history, when he had so openly gifted her with his. But all in all, hers was far more.. Intimidating. Patience and trust was required before her long tale was let out of the bag. Though she had immediately found herself attracted to the young stag, he had not quite yet earned her complete trust. That could only be gained through time and perseverance.

Ataria shot a smile that could make any fall deeply for her but no he couldn’t, he might scare her. She looked down, her face began to brighten into a tinted pink. "There's not much to tell..." Her words didn’t convince him, he was sure she was hiding something. He didn’t reply just left a pause. Ataria glanced to the sky. "Its getting late; god knows what kind of nocturnal creatures will begin to awaken at this hour." She said ending the pause.
The beautiful scene they were standing in was un-tell able, she headed to the bank, he followed close behind for he new she new this place far more then he did. Still thinking about her story, he spoke “I know you are hiding something, and if you do not feel comfortable telling me I understand but I do wish we could learn and try to be good friends and share a old memories and feeling with each other.” He looked at her once more with, loving eyes, waiting for her reply.

Ropes of silk flicked around her angelic face as the young flicka shuddered in order to rid herself of the dripping blanket of cold liquid. It felt good to just shake like that, complete and without a care; although she did lose her balance for a moment there and nearly landed on poor Ance, but that was quickly regained and covered by an apologetic smile. Ataria was not used to acting so natural and freely; where she came from, that wasn't an option. The speckled Lorelei felt a little tickle around her hocks, and shuddered gently as the sensation snow-balled up her hind-quarters, along her spine and all the way to the tips of her ears. She gave a quick side-glance in the kind mahogany stallion's direction before feeling the same tickle re-birth around her rump, this time stronger. Rather than letting it venture up her body once again, she folded her hinds beneath her and dropped down so her under-belly was kissing the soft emerald carpet and then released the growing tingle by flinging up her tri-coloured limbs and rolling upon the floor, letting the soft turf work its magic on her wet coat.
When she was finished she let her pillars splay out beside while she caught her breath, all the while her eyes were firmly glued to the auburn broncs' robust stature, waiting for some kind of reaction. Then, before any sense of control could reach her, her cerebrum shot up, ears pinned attentively as something caught her attention. She was certain she could hear creatures moving around just beyond the border of dark forest pines, pacing anxiously, stalking the couple. Clouds of oxygen puffed from her nostrils as she focussed completely on that forest, straining to see or hear something that would confirm her fear. Nighttime frightened her, and every inch of her instincts was telling her to get the hell out of there.
Hauling herself to her feet, she nudged Ance without word and headed East where she knew a cozy shelter to be. All she could do was hope and prey that her companion could keep up as her nimble pillars picked up speed quickly, bounding along the terrain, fear being her main source of motivation, she could not feel nor sense any ounce of conscious control of her blind flee - she was un-stoppable. She was not entirely sure what it was that she was so afraid of: the darkness itself, or the selection of creatures that came with it. Sure that she must look like an absolutely possessed horse, she flicked an ear back, turning her dial slightly so she could catch a quick glimpse of what was behind her, hoping she would be soothed by the matching rhythmic beating and galloping physique of Ance, that he had heeded her pre-warning and was somewhere close behind.

The sun was setting and the suns reflection on the water went white as the moon pushed the yellow away. He followed her out and caught her slight unbalanced wobble, he watched as she lowered herself into the grass and role around, her eyes not leaving his.
Then her eyes seemed to flick in a panicked motion to the forest, which was now in black shadows, with the random light streak through the branches. Her body hopped up in a quick motion and headed east, Ance followed as he did not know what he would be left behind with.
He followed close behind, he looked back and thought he saw some movement following but ignored it and kept going. Ateria shot a glance back at him and he gave her a quiet whinny in reply. He kept going kept following not knowing where they were going. The roots grabbed at his ankles as he lifted each foot with strength, and closed his eyes trying to dodge the overhanging branches and leaves. Then he felt a twig drive its way up and into his fetlock, causing a sudden pain shoot up his leg. With a limp in his stride he kept going, blood dripping off his hoof and onto the ground leaving a trail that any predator could follow. ooc - sorry so short

Appendages swept across the body of earth swiftly, the bruja's physique gliding like a shadow, merging with the darkness. Her tassels whipped along behind her like a baner of courage, urging her on into the partial unknown. Ataria was at first unsure and frightened beyond reason, but then the voice of a heaven-kissed being sounded softly behind her, and her fret was swept away with the wind. After being a little more attentive, she realized that her racing heartbeat was in sync to the steady drumming of hooves behind her, and that helped put her mind at rest as she focussed solely on that for a minute or two. Their destination was about ten minutes' gallop from their current location, Ataria could almost picture the entire track before them in her mind, knowing the obstacles ahead by heart. Just a few meters ahead was a dam, and around the dam grew adventurous mangroves, their roots long and stubborn. Some of the younger ones had shorter, thinner roots that were quite stiff and pointed, and were potentially dangerous. The Appaloosa's trained pillars skipped through the maze of roots mindlessly, but her thoughts were behind her, with Ance. She had no notion as to whether or not he had experienced this kind of vegetation before.
Using her heartbeat and his hooves to calm her, she suddenly caught her breath when they quickly came out of sync. His afore-neat stride became odd and un-even, and in return her heartbeat began to race. Poor Elegance must have injured himself on the roots. She strained to hear if he would slow, but he appeared to be keeping pace, and Ataria was relieved when they burst out into the open fields again. She felt a little safer here with the fluorescent moonlight gazing down upon the infinite pastures, lending the land of darkness a dim slither of light. She granted them a short break as she allowed her smooth gait to slow all the way to a walk. As much as she knew that Ance would need this rest, she herself was famished and completely exhausted. In her posh upbringing, galloping for as long as that without breather was considerably frowned upon.
Before she could allow herself to snatch a mouthful of the tender grass beneath her hooves, she had to first make sure that her companion was doing alright. "I'm sorry, I should have warned you about those Mangroves back there; that was my wrong, I hope you can forgive me." She said without looking at him, bowing her head to accentuate her apology. "Are you alright?" This time she looked up at him, hardly able to make out his expression in the dim light available.

Ateria kept going, with Ance struggling to keep up. He followed her till they came to a clearing. They stopped, Ance's hoof covered with blood. The pain was indescribable, with each throb, pain shot up his leg, and with every step, it throbbed longer and harder.
He heard her speak but was in to much agony to answer. He stood there shaking, he limped toward a small stream running close to them. The cool water stinging his wound. The fast rushing of the water washed most of the blood which had made a thick coat around his hoof.
Feeling very weak he walked out and lay there in the soft grass, nibbling away as his mind drifted away, well away from that pain in his leg and away from the darkness that surrounded them.
His mind wondered into a meadow, full of daisy’s, a crystal clear lake ran through the middle, and there beside him stood spotted beauty. Her coat shone each circle so perfect. She galloped along side him, as they played around in the meadow......
Then suddenly he felt a rush of strength. He got up, gave Ateria a soft kiss on her rump and galloped off, not knowing where he was going, just hoping she would overtake him and guide the way.
